Description
Pulpit Pitch, aka the toilet bowl, is a bald outcropping that is at the center of the Little Huron river range. It is located about 1/4 mile south of the south face of Superior Mt.
Getting There
From Big Eric's head east, at 0.5 mile turn LEFT onto the road to Little Huron river bridge. At 1.3 miles head to LEFT, note gate labeled "DAVIO" to right. At 3.3 ml turn left. At 3.7 ml the road heads to left "north" and parallels the Little Huron. At 4.6 ml turn RIGHT and 4.7 ml is the Little Huron river and bridge. In the first 1/4 mile past the bridge there are several blocked old logging roads (to the south). You will want park, pack up and take the second trail. This trail heads mostly south and a bit east, after 1/2 mile, there should be some outcroppings due east of the trail. At this point its time to head to the east, off trail. Refuge Ridge, Superior Mt and Pulpit, will be 1/3 mile, 2/3 mile, and 3/4 mile, respectively. Keep an eye out for good bouldering.
