Description

Heartbreak Boulder is a single, big, undercut block recently found by Jim Dangle. Presently, there is only one line exists due to its sheerness.

Getting There

From the New Way parking lot, head right around the pond keeping the highway in view. Go past the Mt. Ann slabs on the yellow trail for 8-10 minutes until you intersect an old road/trail. Look right to see this block.

Tim, this block is really big. Located right near the highway. It has a big undercut cave on the right side and one established problem, a long rising lip traverse on the backside. Mar 11, 2018

Got it. Thanks, Pete. I don't think I found it. The boulders I've been finding are closer to Forest Lane. Just found a couple of really nice ones on Saturday. Luis and I cleaned a couple lines. Luis sent one, and the other is still a project. One is a very nice lip traverse to a really nice mantel topout (right-to-left facing the highway) on a boulder near the highway, probably a 30-40 minute hike from Mt. Ann summit and an 8 minute hike from Forest Lane. It is very close to Pac-Man. There are a bunch more lines too on that end of the park. Take a look at this map (caltopo.com/m/71QP#). I shared it with Jim too. I am not posting pictures of the boulders I find, because I haven't had the time. Pac-Man is worth a visit alone. Relatively small boulders but striking lines! Mar 12, 2018
