Description
Plenty of sun and plenty of dust all within spitting distance of downtown Kelowna (at least the encroaching residential development working its way up Chute Lake Road). The Lonely Crags consist of Heli-Pad, Lonely Boy, Lonely Girl, Hall of Thieves, Lone Pine, and Lonely Island; many of these are west facing with very little shade (i.e., forest fire cleared this area). Drive down to Okanagan Lake and take a dip afterward to get the dust off; the lake views will force you to do this.
Getting There
Drive up Chute Lake Road (through new residential development) and take a sharp left after you pass Heli-Pad on your left (approx. 40' face). The access road to the parking area climbs to the top of Heli-Pad. Lonely Boy is across the dirt road and up the hill 5 mins. from parking (and can't be avoided). Walk south along Lonely Boy to access other areas.
