Description Suggest change

The rock here is basalt.

This area sees little traffic. There are some trees and apparently anchors on the top of the cliff.  In my visit I did not see the anchors, but am told they are there. As far as I could tell there are no sport routes so it seems primarily an area for top roping.

Access is fairly easy following the dirt road and along the fence to the base of the cliff

Getting There Suggest change

Head north on the Klondike Highway #2 off of Alaska Highway #1. About 19 KM from the highway intersection you will see a jeep trail through the ditch on your left (about 1.5 KM past Shallow Bay Road). Continue up the hill and veer left on a good trail. Follow this is and drop down and to the right, where you will seee the bluff ahead of you about 3 KM away. Continue to the clay flats, park and walk in. Use caution, the road is very rough!
