The next "layer" of cliffs above the Tower wall. It is named after its early popular sector,
The Good Book .
The rock tends to be a have more horizontal layers and horizontal holds than the lower tiers at Powerlinez.
From NorthWest to East (L to R) these are the sectors (as of 2016):
There are other possible cliffs in this tier which might have interesting climbing, mostly farther out NorthWest.
As of 2017, the Books Tier is the highest area at Powerlinez that is legally open for technical rock climbing.
Getting There
See directions for getting to
The Good Book wall .
To reach sectors to the east (right) of Good Book, might be quicker to follow directions to
Puzzle Palace , then scramble up around left end of that crag.
Or follow the directions to
the Beard boulder, then scramble up the slope from that, then angle up left-ward.
[Hide Photo] Encountered the largest rattlesnake I have ever seen while coming back down the access trail. He was not keen on letting me back down.
