Description
The next "layer" of cliffs above the Tower wall. It is named after its early popular sector, The Good Book .
The rock tends to be a have more horizontal layers and horizontal holds than the lower tiers at Powerlinez.
From NorthWest to East (L to R) these are the sectors (as of 2016):
- Adventure Stories
- Romance Novels
- the Shelves
- Top Shelf
- The Good Book
- Fairy Tales
- Career Guides (with the big roof "Proving Grounds")
- Check Book
- Radical Books
There are other possible cliffs in this tier which might have interesting climbing, mostly farther out NorthWest.
As of 2017, the Books Tier is the highest area at Powerlinez that is legally open for technical rock climbing.
Getting There
See directions for getting to The Good Book wall .
To reach sectors to the east (right) of Good Book, might be quicker to follow directions to Puzzle Palace , then scramble up around left end of that crag.
Or follow the directions to the Beard boulder, then scramble up the slope from that, then angle up left-ward.
