Always visit the Castle Rock State Park website parks.ca.gov/?page_id=538 for fairly current official information.
Description
Concentrated area of good bouldering that is entirely within Sanborn County Park (just across the road from Castle Rock State Park).
Classics include Sharma Arete, Static Reach, Nature Nazi Boulder, Lost Keys Traverse, thee Classic, Asian Invasion, Right Hand Indian Man (not to be confused by "Right Hand Man"), and many others.
Getting There
Parking: Park off the side of Skyline Blvd in the gravel lot on the opposite side of Castle Rock. This gets you right next to the trailhead for Indian Rock.
The free parking spots can fill up early on weekends, but there still should be space in the paid Castle Rock Kirkwood lot across the street.
Approach Time: 2 - 10 minutes (depends on the boulder and where you can find parking)
Map of the Area: This is a great map (from the photos section) of the boulders and trails on the Sanborn County Park side of the road. This map should make it easy to find any of the popular problems.
Directions to Indian Rock: There will be a sign a short ways (like 50 feet) in stating (among other things) "Indian Rock .1M", Go past this sign on the trail which will head up the hill and gradually left. You'll find Indian Rock on the right side of this trail jutting 30 feet out of the ground, and surrounded by small boulders.
