Description

North facing shade most of the day for routes such as Dancing Deer Direct and North Face (5.7). Amazing summit views. Very secluded. The lake may have some backpackers. There are campsites at Precipice Lake and excellent camping in the Nine Lakes Basin. There is a nice climbing wall a few mins. past Precipice Lake towards Kaweah Gap. Build anchors and TR routes. Camping nearby requires use of a bear canister. Of course, practice leave no trace. Permit ($15) for backcountry trips.

Getting There

Hike ~20 miles from Crescent Meadow to Precipice Lake, or start from Mineral King, Tablelands, Jennie Lakes Wilderness or elsewhere.
