[Hide Comment] This is the highest quality crag in Phantom Canyon, based on ease of access and the quality of the routes. It is highly metamporphosed, with bands of mica determining where handholds form in many cases. It is similar to Clear Creek Canyon. Nov 15, 2016

[Hide Comment] Spectacular climbing area - very pleased with the rock quality and climbing styles. One bit of advice: be on the lookout for tarantulas. There was one right by my foot while belaying my wife. It took me by surprise and hung around my rope and feet for quite awhile. Then there was another one in the parking lot on our way out. Also be aware of cactus. They are in abundance on the approach trail, around the wall, and at belay stances. Nov 7, 2020

[Hide Comment] Also, one time we went there to climb some aggressive hillbillies had set up camp in the parking lot. They were extremely hostile to us as we tried to go through "their camp." One short guy kept saying, "Aw, no. You ain't coming through our camp!" They had the ghetto trailer, tied up barking dog, the works. We then went to the road and dropped down to the trail, which still angered them, but by the time the third and forth party parked there to climb, they got the message and moved their camp across the creek in the flood zone.
