Description
There are a few distinct areas here.
Rowe Well Road Boulders-- Small cluster about 5 miles out on Rowell Rd from the village. 2wd accessible.
Bright Angel Wash-- Bigger and more spread out down a draw reminiscent of priest draw... but lacking quantity and quality... 4wd needed in winter.
The Asteroid Field is another area near by and currently seeing new problems added.
I wouldn't be climbing here unless I lived at the aGrand Canyon. Surprisingly nice limestone boulders with a variation of pockets, chicken head like fossilized sponges, and even some finger and hand cracks. I've developed enough now to call it an area.
Not a huge amount of climbs, but a handful of decent moderates and even some really hard projects to keep you occupied if you are a local.
Make sure and avoid climbing on or around rock art. There are some tempting lines that should not be done due to presence of cultural resources. There are still plenty of decent lines that are not on or near rock art. Just keep your eyes open.
