Description

Consisting of granite, red sandstone and gneiss, the Odenwald offers dozens of crags with a variety or rock types as well as bouldering for those who want to leave the rope at home.

The Odenwald is situation in the triborder area where Hessen, Baden-Wuerttemberg and Bavaria meet. It runs roughly from Darmstadt south to Heidelberg.

Getting There

To get to the general area, drive or take public transit to Darmstadt, Heidelberg or Mannheim which are the well known cities around it. From there it will depend on the specific crag(s) you're aiming to visit.
