Access Issue: Bridges Out! IMPORTANT LADWP NEGOTIATIONS!! Details

Description

This west facing cliff gets the award for most improved. With the addition of several new routes including the 5 star 11b Still Not a Player and the further development of the near by Diamondback and Dead Crow Buttress areas there are several somethings for everyone here.

Getting There

From the Lower Gorge Road stay on the road until a hundred yards or so past the Big Tower/Pink Face area, just past a bend in the river. The foot bridges that previously allowed access to this area have been removed. Just past the cliffs at the turn of the road, look for trails leading behind a berm of dirt. There is a log crossing here. Follow an obvious trail to the base of the climbs.

Note the wood bridge to the base of Diamondback got destroyed over the winter and the low-water planks have been removed to comply with the DWP request. You can still easily access this area by wading the low-river crossing at Diamond Face or there is a log slightly downstream closer to the Grey Wall. Dec 31, 2018
