Description
700'+ section of the lower tier, easily seen from the trail via the Mill Creek Approach. Marked by the humongous, bottom to top, left facing corner system. This area is directly up canyon from the Dihedrals East section of the lower tier.
Getting There
Follow the directions for the Mill Creek Approach. At the top of the hill there will be a climbers trail on the left. DON’T take it, it is the approach to No Sweat and The Great Awakening Wall. Look right for a natural granite stair case. This marks the start of the Stranger than Friction Wall approach. Continue scrambling up and over ledges, making your way back towards the major corner system up and right. Aim for the huge burnt tree and then blast up to the base of the corner system. There is a protection bolt near the ground for the belayer that marks the start of the climb. Expect to encounter some low fifth class steps at some point. Follow the path of least resistance. There is a small, obvious cave between the two routes here.
