Getting weather forecast...
DescriptionMedium sized granite bouldering field. The rock is much easier on the hands than Boat Rock, but only a small portion of the boulders on/near Panola are open for climbing. If more bouldering is eventually opened up, there will be significantly more bouldering on the nearby trails than at Boat Rock. A good combination of slabby climbs, overhung routes, and a little bit of crack climbing.
Please submit route information if you have it! I haven't been able to find any FAs or route names, but I know that people have been sending climbs in this area for a couple of years now.
Check in with the rangers at the nature center every time you go bouldering. DO NOT GO ON THE ACTUAL MOUNTAIN Details
Only a small area is open for climbing, so please be respectful and don't climb outside of that area. The actual mountain is off limits without a guide, but apparently they will do guided bouldering tours of the mountain if the SCC sends a representative to take part in the guided trip. Pack out all trash, be quiet, be respectful. Much of Panola is home to a combination of endangered plants, and wildlife preserves, so don't be intrusive!
