Only a small area is open for climbing, so please be respectful and don't climb outside of that area. The actual mountain is off limits without a guide, but apparently they will do guided bouldering tours of the mountain if the SCC sends a representative to take part in the guided trip. Pack out all trash, be quiet, be respectful. Much of Panola is home to a combination of endangered plants, and wildlife preserves, so don't be intrusive!

Description

Medium sized granite bouldering field. The rock is much easier on the hands than Boat Rock, but only a small portion of the boulders on/near Panola are open for climbing. If more bouldering is eventually opened up, there will be significantly more bouldering on the nearby trails than at Boat Rock. A good combination of slabby climbs, overhung routes, and a little bit of crack climbing.

Please submit route information if you have it! I haven't been able to find any FAs or route names, but I know that people have been sending climbs in this area for a couple of years now.

Getting There

Talk to the rangers at the nature center (address is 2600 Highway 155, SW, Stockbridge, GA 30281) for directions. They are very explicit about wanting you to visit them before doing any bouldering or visiting the bouldering area! There's also a $5.00 Parking Fee.
