Description

Mainly vertical and overhanging walls, pretty steep. Wide range of climbing, from 5.6 to 5.12d. About 34 routes so far. Currently developing new routes by Cat Ba Climbing.

Access pass required in order to access the private land and to help developing and bolting the area, available at Cat Ba Climbing. Free topo and information, equipment rental, tours and partner finding.

Shady all day, stays dry in light rain.

[Hide Comment] Really excellent climbing, some of the best we found on Cat Ba and definitely worth a few days of attention. The crag seems well maintained, and we encountered only solid hardware. The tufas were big and supple and the climbs were longer than routes at a few other crags on the island. There are a few climbs that management has deemed unsafe due to rockfall potential, but cursory visual inspection from the ground makes it seem as though developers and managers may be a bit overcautious. The mosquitos were pretty hellish, large in number, and aggressive, so bring your Deet. Also Deet degrades nylon so leave the Deet at home. Prepare to be invited for tea by the residents of the little homestead where you park the motorcycles (if applicable). Dec 31, 2017

[Hide Comment] We visited there and met the landlord couple. They asked 50k VDN per person per day to get in when we arrived around 3pm. Said its a discount. If you'd like to get in in the morning it would be around 100k VND ppl per day. Tickets are also sold at somewhere else in some ticket center, but we couldn't understand them since they only speak basic English (its our fault that we dont speak Vietnamese). They were super friendly that they were planning to cook local seafood for us for dinner the next day. But we had other plan :( Apr 1, 2024
