Description
Cerro Ventana is a picturesque north facing crag overlooking rt 40 and Lago Gutierrez. Most importantly, it is a short drive from Bariloche, making it the perfect sport climbing day off from your hard trad occupation at Frey. Routes from really easy to 5.13. Some bolts are rusty or spin. Rock is just like Piedra Parada: vertical crimpy climbing and steep jug hauls.
The club andino in bariloche told us there were muggings in 2015. We didn't encounter anyone near the crag.
Getting There
The quickest access is to take a taxi or private car called a Remise. Supposedly you can take the number 41 bus, "Villa Arelauquen," from central Bariloche. Before the bus turns right off Ruta 40 onto a dirt road, hop off. Continue walking a hundred meters or so and see the cliffs on your left.
