Description

Cerro Ventana is a picturesque north facing crag overlooking rt 40 and Lago Gutierrez. Most importantly, it is a short drive from Bariloche, making it the perfect sport climbing day off from your hard trad occupation at Frey. Routes from really easy to 5.13. Some bolts are rusty or spin. Rock is just like Piedra Parada: vertical crimpy climbing and steep jug hauls.

The club andino in bariloche told us there were muggings in 2015. We didn't encounter anyone near the crag.

Getting There

We took a cab for 400 pesos, but our driver kinda got lost. Supposedly you can take the infrequent number 41 bus, "Villa Arlauquen," from central Bariloche. Before the bus turns right off rt. 40 onto a dirt road, hop off. Continue walking a hundred meters or so and see the cliffs on your left. We got back by hitching down aforementioned dirt road until our driver dropped us off at a stop for the no. 51 bus (I think).
