Description
Pig Rock was found, from the climber's perspective, by Jim Lybarger in '93 while he was doing an extended stay at the Desert Inn. This is the first climbing in Boy Scout Canyon and has two main areas. Both are made from basalt boulders (up to large room sized) that calved off the side of the mesa that forms the southeast rim. Most of the climbable rocks made it down to the canyon floor but there are several large ones with problems higher in the talus field below the cliff. The cliff is mostly rotten but it has some nice sections with a few trad climbs and room for more.
