Description
This area was originally found by Nick Smith in 2015. In the fall of 2020 Paul Gagner "discovered" the crag and began cleaning, bolting and improving the trails. There is 100 foot tall both East and West facing basalt. The right side gets morning sun and afternoon shade, while the left side gets morning shade and afternoon sun. Great for following the seasons, and one can climb there year around - 45 minutes from Kanab.
Getting There
Glendale Bench Road to Rd #107P (south) through a gate, and then left on 107N (this is an indistinct road that drops down a rocky gully). 1.2 miles from the gate is a parking area on the left. Follow the trail out to a tree with a cairn. Follow the trail down the hill and into the canyon. Dark Sky is the first route on the right. Bad is Good is the first route on the left. Cell service is good with AT&T but non-existent with Verizon. See images for driving map. There is good camping on the right, immediately before the parking spot on the left.
