Description
August, 2024.....This area has been divided into 3 sub-areas: Main Wall, Right Flank and Dog House. Significant development has occurred on this crag since the 2017 publication of "Notches". In fact, most of the climbs listed on the main wall area are NOT in "Notches", and somewhat surprisingly quite a few of those that are in it are not listed in Mountainproject. (Who wants to do "old" routes when there's all this great new rock?!) In addition, the entire "Dog House" area is new. (Gotta be a story behind that name...how about it Andy???)
An East Facing cliff. All day sun and quick drying rock. Amazing views of the notch and Cannon cliff! Expect alpine like conditions and no slabs. Very nice and level staging areas.
Getting There
About a 50 minute uphill hike. Follow the Green Leaf Trail for about 40 minutes. When the trail flattens out - about 50 meters before arriving at the Eagle Pass - you'll see a small cairn on your left marking an uphill climbers trail. Follow the climber's trail for about 10 minutes, going left at all the trail forks. Don't go into the talus field on your right, stay left in the trees. If you're on the climber's trail for more than 10 minutes, retrace your steps and look for a trail fork. Get ready for an amazing place, great rock and a fantastic alpine view!
See the Comment by Alec O about staying left on approach path.
