Description

With a handful of excellent leads, top ropes, and boulder problems right out of the wash, Snake Eyes provides moderate to hard lounging and climbing in equal measure. A couple routes have bolts but all of them require gear. Or large and committing run-outs. All of the anchors are fashioned with natural gear and extra rope or sling is very useful for setting up top ropes.

Getting There

From the mouth of the canyon, go a couple hundred feet up the wash and pass the huge chock stone. Just past this, in the narrowest part of the lower canyon, Snake Eyes is the first wall on the left. Descent: From the top of the wall, go climbers left down the shallow 4th class gully; be mindful of the petroglyphs and stay clear of them. Or go climbers right up past the Demonstrator and Shark Fin Walls to the top of the Chuckwalla Couloir, and take this back down to the wash.
