Per Scott Patterson: the rock is 100% BLM land. There are no trespassing signs near the crag to the east, but it doesn't affect this rock or any of the climbs there.
Description
This is a small crag with 5 toprope routes, each double bolted. There are short climbs approximately 20-30 feet long. It is en route to Hurd Creek Crag.
I discovered from reading about Hurd Creek area from inside.mines.edu/fs_home/gm…. See the description at mile 1.2 in the directions on that page.
Per Chris Michalowski: Phases Rock is a small rock outcropping directly across the parking lot from the Phases mountainbike trails. It has the shortest approach in Grand County! There are 3 bolted climbs and an additional anchor for a 4th toprope line. All of the climbs can be accessed from the top for toproping, although it is recommended to fix a line to protect getting to the anchors.
Eds. This is a combination of two submissions for the same crag consolidated onto the 1st submissions page.
Getting There
From US 40, turn east onto CR 83 just south of Tabernash. At the next intersection, turn left onto CR 84, cross the stream, and go left onto Strawberry Rd. The crag is on north side of road at first significant bend.
Per Chris Michalowski: take County Road 84 out of Tabernash towards Meadow Creek Reservoir. After crossing the bridge for Ranch Creek, turn left onto Strawberry Rd. The rock is about 1/4 mile from the intersection opposite of the large parking lot for the Phases.
