Description
Starting in the beautiful Goldbasin Area, this is simply the upper entrance to the fantastic Dakota Crag.
Getting There
From the Moab Information Center, drive south 7.8 mi on US191 and turn left at sign that points to La Sal Loop Road. After 0.6 miles, turn right at the T intersection and continue up the La Sal Loop road for 10.8 miles to turn right onto Geyser Pass Rd. Drive 5.5 miles and turn right onto FR171/Goldbasin Road. Drive another 1.1 miles to a sharp left switchback and park in a small clearing in the trees. The foot path begins descending immediately from the parking area through the Aspens just below treeline and eventually to the base of the climbs. 5 minute approach.
Consider using the pit toilet near the lower parking area and use a carry-out LNT ethic for solid human waste.
