Getting weather forecast...

Description

Positioned along the ridge that overlooks the Bountiful/Centerville/Farmington area. Two bolt anchors located on the east side of the top section of quartzite stone.

Getting There

Drive up to the Bountiful "B" and continue along the main road (Ward Canyon Rd.) to the top ridge for about 20-25 minutes. The road quality is so-so, but reachable without 4WD or much clearance. When you approach the main ridge line heading North, you'll see the main rock formation across the canyon and the pull-out road to the left used to reach them (FR 008-Skyline Dr.). Park 500 ft. to the west beyond the area above the cliffs and walk back to where you'll find an access trail that leads down to the first anchor point. Be prepared with slings or webbing to rappel down from the top of 1 pitch. You may want to be prepared to climb out using the rock instead of making the tedious journey along the sides to reach the top.

I have added two routes! The bolts were already there (and fairly new), so I just made a topo. See the topo in the pics for Skyline Crag.

A. Top 2 bolts. This is the starting location (the road is above the crag). Rap to point B
B. The ledge. This is a checkpoint if your rope is less than 70m. It's also the top of UP left and UP right. There is a single bolt for a PAS
C. UP left
D. UP right
E. Belay spot for UP left
F. Belay spot for UP right
G. The not-so-path path to get from UP left to UP right
H. This is the cave-like thing. UP right's first two bolts are in here. POSSIBLE ADDITIONAL ROUTES IN THE FUTURE????
I. The safer walkout. You are kindof going through short bushes at the bottom, but then you are on loose rock.

Rap down from the top two bolts (A) to the ledge on top of UP right and UP left. On the ledge is a single bolt to use as a PAS. From here you can reach down and rap down to the bottom from either of the sets of bolts. RAP DOWN Up left. UP right isn't a vertical route.

To leave, you can either climb up (C or D) and scramble TO THE LEFT once you're on the ledge (this is PG13), or you can scramble up and around the crag to the left. Aug 30, 2016

If you rappel from the top two bolts down to the right (if you are facing the rock from the rappel) there are some bolted routes down at the bottom. I don't know why they aren't listed on here... I am planning on going up there and mapping out some of the routes pretty soon though so they can be put on here. Jul 26, 2016
