Description Suggest change

Located on the east coast of the Isle of Skye, this is a picturesque location. Great climbing on beautiful cracks in the basalt column that overlooks the sea.

For all belays up top, look for the metal poles driven into the ground. Otherwise, all that's up there is a bunch of heather bushes!

Bring two ropes or a dedicated rappel rope if you plan to do routes that are on the more seaward facing side.

Getting There Suggest change

Head north past Portree and the Old Man of Stoer. Before you get to Staffin, you'll see Loch Mealt on your left and shortly after there will be an overlook and parking for Mealt Falls. Turn in here and park.

From the car park, hop over the creek and then the fence, heading north through the fields (there may be a path of sorts). It's about a 20 min walk north until you see the main formation. Look for the gully leading down towards the sea. As you descend the gully, the first few routes will on the face up to your left.

For the more seaward routes, you will need to rappel in.
