DescriptionShort, very steep sport climbing wall, close to St. John's with a quick approach. The rock is a fine grained, conglomerate sandstone that results in a large variety of textures and features.
Some of the routes require a stick clip. All top anchors at the crag are accessible safely from above - a good strategy for cleaning routes is to leave an anchor and lower off it then retrieve it from above.
The wall tends to be cold early in the season due to proximity to the ocean but is very well sheltered from ocean swells. It stays in the shade for most of the day, so it makes a great place to go on a summer afternoon or evening.
Getting ThereTrailhead Location: http://binged.it/1S65sK0
Take marine drive as per driving to the Marine lab, but continue on marine drive instead of turning down Marine Lab road. Park at a gravel pulloff with a gate. Walk down the paved road that eventually turns into a trail. Continue along this trail for about 5 minutes until it is possible to take a side trail down towards the ocean. There are many side trails, the further you go along the main trail, the easier it is to get down to the crag. Scramble down the slab, the crag is in the left hand side of the overhanging gorge at the bottom of the slab.
