Description
Brown's Canyon National Monument and the surrounding area has quartzite domes, boulders, and monoliths. Because of the Arkansas River and limited number of roads and trails in the monument accessing many of the routes in the area is generally difficult and requires long overland approaches. The climbing is similar to the Four Mile area near BV and consists of exfoliating quartzite features with large crystals, flaring cracks and sharp offwidths. Permanent hardware in the monument and surrounding areas is nearly non existent. .
