DescriptionEast Clear Creek is a treasured raparian zone which courses through the heart of a seemingly dried out, high desert wasteland. It takes root at Blue Ridge Resevoir, and then the spring fed creek runs north towards Winslow, ending in the small reservoir known as Lake McHood, before filtering down into one of the largest aquifers in this part of the state.
The canyon holds both limestone, and sandstone bands which present the climber with pocket pulling sport routes, or even "spliteresque" cracks.
There are a growing number of areas along this canyon, however most of the access treads across Hopi Ranch Lands. Be considerate, and keep a low profile, close gates, and of course, don't harass the cows....
While the Winslow Wall seems to have been "Grandfathered" into steady, good access with the land owners over the years (no thanks to some climbers...), other areas may be treated differently.
