Access Issue: Climbing Regulations/Seasonal Raptor Closures Details

The Joshua Tree National Park Superintendent's Compendium states that:
1. Vegetation is not allowed to be used as an anchor.
2. Only neutral or rock colored bolt hangers are allowed.

Description

This area covers all of the crags that lie along the approach trail south of the Wonderland Valley.

Crags here include:

Previously Unreleased Material
Sergeant Rock

Getting There

Hike east from the parking area following an old road which forks - take the left fork heading north and pass the ruins of an old building - Uncle Willie's Health Food Store

Make a left, enter a wash passing through some trees and then follow the wash as it turns right heading north. The trail stays mainly in the wash but there are times when it is easier to stay above the wash.

The approach from the car takes about 15 - 30 minutes.
