Description

The crag on the west side of the valley at the foot of Blue Goat Mountain just above the middle of Blue Lake is granite and up to 250' tall.

Getting There

Blue Lake is in the middle of the Sinlahekin Wildlife Area (WA. State Fish and Wildlife land) in the beautiful Sinlahekin Valley. From Tonasket approach either from the North (via Loomis) or South (via Pine Creek) - about half an hour's drive either way. Discover Pass needed for parking.

The crag is best approached along the hiking/horse trail along the west side of the lake (about the same distance from either end - about 1.5 miles and a 25 minute hike in - although the trailhead and parking at the north end is nicer, the south side is the best for getting to the top of the crag). The shortest option would be to paddle a boat across the narrow middle part of the lake and approach from the east…

There are several designated camping sites along the lake (at the north end and along east side). The area is part of the Sinlahekin Fish and Wildlife area.

The rock is granite, fairly broken up, but with a few potential lines that may clean up to be good. It doesn't look like it's ever been climbed, and feels a bit wild... Mar 20, 2015

Looks like a nice place to climb and camp.

What kind of rock is it? Mar 20, 2015
