The climbing at Saguaro lake is mostly accessible by boat. The rock is the solidified pyroclastic ash that is found throughout the Superstitions and the Salt River watershed. It ranges in quality from pretty good to frightening and crumbly. It is under development at the moment and many new routes can be expected over the coming year. Nice variety of routes.
Getting There [Suggest Change]
From Phoenix, travel northeast on HWY 87 toward Payson, Exit on Bush Hwy, follow signs to the Marina or Butcher Jones Beach. From there, take a boat to any of the routes described. Canoe or kayak or even power boat.
