Description
Valle de Aranjuez is the major rock climbing area near to the city of La Paz. Over 100 properly bolted routes are avilable with proper anchors. The difficulty goes from 5a to 8a (French system)
The rock is a redish conglomerate wich could be loose in some areas but this is something that doesn't happens often.
The area is only sport climbing so don't bother to bring any crash pads or traditional gear, it will be useless.
Bring a helmet, after raining season (Nov. to Feb./Mar.) could be some loose small rocks. Also a set of 20 quickdraws will be enough and a rope of 60m.
There is some multi pich climbing in the area.

Getting There
Any minubus, micro or trufi that goes to Aranjuez, Mallasa and zoo area. Get off at the "Puente Barrio Amor de Dios" to go to el Penon or Las Alas area. To get to la Galleta, get off at "Bartolina" park.
You can take a taxi too, or another option is to take the Puma Katari bus (to Chasquipampa if you are in downtown) and get off near the tennis club stop, then you will have to walk for 5 - 10 min. to the area.
Fron La Paz city downtowon it could take 20 to get there, it depends on the traffic.
There is basicaly no aproach, just no more that 5 minutes walk form the main road.
