Paul Firestone and I did the 5.9 route above the Apron short of the summit. It's titled 'The Book of Acts'. We worked it ground up back in 93/94.

The Granites were written on bt Allison Osius in either Rock and Ice or Climbing.

There's water if you can find it, and the mo see'ums bite like Hell. Apr 23, 2017
Yes it is on the south-east side of the Toyibes. I have often wondered if they had been climbed. I was told by a local geologist that the rock is diorite. Dec 13, 2016

i just flew over this area the other day, without knowing what it was. it looked pretty good, and definitely big, so i tried to find any sort of reference points, but the best thing i could find was an 'arrow' shaped salt flat.... jumped on google earth when i got home and after some trial and error i was able to figure out where it was.

it looks like it is off the south flank of toiyabe range peak (39d 04' 15" N, 117d 12' 50" W). just take 376 south a short ways from the megalopolis of kingston nevada, which has its own airport...

there are some cool photos linked on google earth:

I like the detail in the section on how to locate the route. Almost like no information at all. In other news, the sky is up. Also there is an amazing new ten pitch route, all pitches are five star splitters. You can find it somewhere between Kathmandu and Antarctica with a left turn at Albuquerque. It's on a rock. Good luck! Feb 18, 2015
