(3) Forgotten Wall

International > Asia > Taiwan > Kaohsiung > Shoushan Nature Park

Description

This wall is a slightly longer walk than the others. But it's probably the best crag developed so far in quality of rock, sequences of moves, and concentration of 10+ to 12- routes. Unfortunately, all of the bolts that were installed in late 2016 were chopped off in early 2017. According to the "manager" of the national park, the crag is in the military's jurisdiction, though nearby posted maps show otherwise. The military does not seem to even be aware of the climbing, and does nothing to deter hikers from passing through the area regularly. It is still possible to top-rope here, but consider that the trees you use for building an anchor are also the night-time resting places of the local monkeys. Some can be aggressive, others will just be startled by your presence. Try not to disturb them... we all just want to enjoy the jungle life.
