Description
This area seldom sees any traffic because of its seclusion. Rock quality is fairly good, especially for Magic Carpet Ride.
Receives shade most of the day.
Getting There
3 ways:
The first is continue on the path that follows the bluff line (past the Cairn leading to the climb-down approach) continue for about 5 minutes, to a very small Cairn(stack of rocks) and head toward the bluff line. There's a tree with a rope connected to it, and it will lead you down a 4th class scramble. At the bottom is Magic Carpet Ride.
The second approach is head down towards Cactus Joe and continue walking through nonexistent trails for about 7-10min until you see 3 sport routes all together. (this is the left part of the area and Magic Carpet Ride just a minute further and you have to head upwards when you see a little colored marker and then squeeze through a boulder.)
The third and newest path follows the orange markers on the trees. Continue past the Goat Path entrance on the somewhat faint trail for about 1/4 mile. You'll see a fairly obvious break in the cliff line that makes for a pretty easy descent. As of spring 2023 there is no rope to use here.
