Description
Located only a mile down the "LHHT" (Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail) is a large boulder field spanning the whole hillside. Dozens of classics on sometimes sharp but amazing sandstone, similar to Cooper's Rock. Access is open since it's on Ohiopyle land, and the hike is mostly flat. The problems described here are only a select few from the countless more that exist, but there is still a lot of potential for first ascents.
Getting There
Once in Ohiopyle, getting to Falls City Pub is easy; Heading north out of town turn right immediately after crossing the bridge and train tracks. Park in the large gravel lot in front of Falls City. If this lot is full there are MANY other places to park nearby. From here, walk down the gated road past Falls City Pub for about 200 yards. From here the LHHT cuts off uphill following yellow blazes. You can take this all the way to mile marker 1, or you can continue on the gravel road for a shortcut. Follow this gravel road until it meets up with the train tracks; you'll cross a little stream. Here you will see a path going up hill into the woods. Follow this for about 100 yards and you will meet up with the LHHT. Turn right and the boulders and mile marker 1 will already be visible.
