The park area(graassy area) right next to the river is the take out for a local tubing place and is often a party spot for the local college kids, it is often patrolled. I don't believe you will have any issues.
A nice climb right on the edge of the new river, two bolts at the top of the climb, I believe there are some climbs on the back side of this slab that can be set up also.
take Mccoy rd. from Blacksburg towards the river. This will end in a T at Big Falls rd. take a right on big falls rd. take Big Falls rd. for about 1 mile. You will see houses on your left the whole way and eventually a kind of park area with some parking on the right and a take out for tubers. The road is now right next to the river with no houses in between. Park here, cross the very active train tracks and there is a great slab of rock on the left with a couple bolts at the top.
