The Moat

Tennessee > Castle Rock

Description

This area closes seasonally due to peregrine falcon nesting. Please see the SCC web site for updates.

A small cove of East facing rock near the stream. Most of the routes are vertical and fall between 10a and 12a. Apparently, the stream creates an A/C effect making this a good Summer area.

Remember, if nature calls while you are climbing at The Moat, stay 200 feet from the stream that flows from Castle Rock and do not tamper with hoses that run down the hill. These supply Ms. Phillips(the landowner) with her water.

Getting There

Continue hiking past the Drifter Wall until you reach the stream. The Moat is just left of the stream.
