Description

As the name implies North Dallas 40 lies on the north side of the largest formation at Texas Canyon, the Elephant's Head, between the Lower East Side and the Pangea Wall. This unique area is home to a handful of routes and contains some of the chossiest, as well as some of the best conglomerate at Texas Canyon. The wall is perhaps twenty yards wide and sixty feet high. The North Dallas 40 is the wall upon which the Elephant's Ear, the eighty foot high tower, rests to form the imposing overhang on this north face. There is a 15 ft tall oak tree at the wall's west end.

Getting There

From the caves at the base of the east face of the Elephant's Head hike down the hill, to the north, and around base of the Elephant's Ear, as for the approach to the Lower East Side. Continue past the Lower East Side. The North Dallas 40 is on the left.
