Description

Rock quality ranges from fair-poor. Fantastically secluded, explore the base of the wall to find some sweet little caves. If you are looking to set up a TR, when you are facing the wall make a left and walk to the edge of the wall, there should be an obvious trail leading to the top. Most climbs are too tall for a 60-70m rope, so bring lots of static or webbing. Plenty of solid trees up top for natural anchors, and a variety of gear placements ranging from #3-4 range to #.75 range. If you are planning on leading a climb, check the quality of the rock, as what appears to be a beautiful jug can quickly turn into a watermelon sized hand weight.

Getting There

When approaching the Harford/Baltimore County line from the Baltimore side, park at the pull off on your just before the bridge. Walk across the street to the trail head marker, begin that trail. Follow the trail along the river until you come to an old concrete bridge structure, then follow the path up the hill leading to a clearing. You should see an obvious old foundation on your left right before the clearing and you should be walking on (or near) a segment of an old paved road. Walk up into the clearing and you will see the crag.

Why don't more people climb here? is there access issues? is it just too chossy to climb? Jun 2, 2017

Went here today looking for boulders...pretty overgrown and tons of loose rock and choss. One wall was about 15-20ft and could be a v2-3 high ball boulder problem but was too wet. Llamas ate my homework looks like the only trad line I would try. Worth the trip if you are looking for an easy lead... approach was super chill. Oct 22, 2017
