DescriptionA large granite boulder on the western shoreline of Newman Lake. The boulder offers a few moderate boulder problems with potential for harder problems to be established. While there are only a few boulder problems to jump on, they are fun and the rock is of high quality. The location of the rock offers beautiful scenery and is accessible by a short hike on a well established trail.
Getting ThereThe boulder is in the Mckenzie Conservation Area on the western shore of Newman lake. To get there, take West Newman Lake Drive almost all the way around Newman lake. After driving almost all the way around the lake, you will find the large gravel parking lot on the right side of the road. This is a Spokane County Park facility. Follow the wide trailhead from the parking lot down to the water. Follow the trail nearly a mile down to the shore. There is an informative sign about the bald eagles nests in the area just before you get there. The climbing is on the lakeside of the boulder just off the waters edge.
