Per JF M: as of May 2022, there is no signage on-site, nor information on the USFS webpage for the Cameron Peak Fire (nor on their published map of closures) that indicates the area is closed.
Per Bruce Hildenbrand: it appears that the Forest Service has closed access to all the climbing areas accessed via Storm Mountain Road (Monastery, Cedar Park, Combat Rock, etc.) until they can clear all the dangerous dead trees from the Cameron Peak fire.
I worked this issue with Eric Murdock at the AF, and it looks like the Forest Service picked Devil's Gulch Road as the southern boundary even though all the climbing areas on MP.com were not burned.
Description
This is a short crag with crystalline rock that has three unknown bolted routes. The leftmost route, roughly heading up the arete, is 5.7. The next route to the right leading to the same anchors is a crumbly 5.9+. The rightmost route is a fun but dirty 5.9+.
Getting There
After passing the jumble of short cliffs and boulders below the main crag, head up right about 100 feet to the cliff hidden in the trees.
[Hide Comment] We ended up climbing here when we couldn't find the routes we wanted to climb and were pretty disappointed. The crag needs a lot more action to get cleaned up. The area is really neat though, and there seems to be potential for more development.
