Description Suggest change

This canyon is named after a family (Beus) of Italian immigrants that is now maintained by the FS. Great granitic gneiss, but this area is new so expect rock fall. Sunny most of the day. Windy through late afternoon and never crowded. Pretty secluded.

Getting There Suggest change

Drive up 4600 S from Harrison Blvd. to the parking lot at the foot of the mountains, this is the trail head. Take the Beus Canyon trail for roughly one hour then you will arrive at a pile of sticks blocking the trail, walk over them or around. I spoke with the FS and they said they do not know who put them there or why. The trail stays north but follows the creek the whole time. There is private property north of the area in Strongs Canyon. Expect about an hour and 25 minute approach time.
