Description

A collection of secluded bouldering areas (The Snags, Timberland, The Mystics, and The Sticks) in an alpine-feeling forest. Plenty of scattered blocs to explore and develop.

Getting There

Just out of Strawberry, CA, turn south on to 42 Mile Tract Road. Make a right on to Strawberry Cr. Tract. Wind your way 5.1 miles up to the Pack Saddle Pass. Make a right onto 10N22. Make a left after .7 miles onto 10N03Y. After .4 miles is the parking for The Snags and another .4 miles for the best camping and parking for The Mystics and Timberland.

[Hide Comment] Update on the area since the Caldor fire. The road into the area is solid although there could be some debris or trees in the way. You might have to move stuff to get through. There is a short section of the forest road that is a bit intimidating if you don't have 4x4. But you can park right there and walk to the snags.

Routes: the rock seem to be in good shape, but a lot of the shade was burned away. We were still able to find shade in most areas, but you could tell it used to be better. Overall, we were pretty happy with the rock quality. There was still a decent amount of ash on the ground. Jun 22, 2024
