Description

Sandias is located on the west side of Ouray. There are about 2 dozen routes established in the mid-late 2000s. See Jason Nelson's Rock Climbing Guide Ouray Silverton & Ridgway Rock published 2012. Stop by Ouray Mountain Sports for info.

Getting There

Head west on 7th Street to the end. Left on Oak up the hill south. Go right onto Queen St. You will see a sign for Twin Peaks Trailhead. There's room for 2-3 vehicles parking. Be considerate of the residences. The approach follows the TP trail switchbacks up and left around into the canyon. Consult the guidebook for a photo of the Sandias and a layout where each crag is located.
