Gato Buttress

International > N America > Canada > Yukon Territory > Alaska Highway… > Paint Mtn (Haines Jun…

Description

There are amazing crack climbs here reminiscent of Squamish. Great granite rock and gets the sun all day. The area is still in development, but so far so good! There are a few adventure multi pitch, some exciting starts to amazing crack systems, and fun lines to keep you coming back. Climbs currently range 5.8-5.10 with a little aid.

Getting There

Take the western trail that also heads towards Swiss Wall, Chunder, and Buffalo Buttress. The trail to Gato will be the first relatively beaten path to the right. See the area map for a .gpx file.
