Description
Trøndelag is the two counties South and North Trøndelag. It is the region north of the Dovre mountains, and south of the long coast line of Helgeland. The terrain in Trøndelag varies from the steep mountains of Trollheimen in the south, to coastal islands, wide farmlands, and vast pine woods and high plains towards the east and south. Trondheim is the main city of Trøndelag, and the third largest city in Norway, with 170.000 inh.
Trøndelag holds a wide variety of climbing. Adam Ondra put up his famous super-hard sportroute Change in the Flatanger cave in the north-west. On the coastal North-West you'll also find Vingsand and Harbak, which are perhaps the finest bouldering destinations in Norway. Oppdal in the south offers some of the best ice in Norway.
