Description
Great sport climbing on solid granite. This whole area is generaly in the sun all day but a few sectors offer the possibility to escape the sun. This is one of Argentinas best sport climbing areas with many routes and even more potencial. It is also very easy to get to being located only 2 hours outside of the capital of the Cordoba provice. Also there are many smaller towns with all the amenaties with 40 min to an hour away.
The climbing is characterized by a wide range of angles being mostly slightly slab or extremly overhung. Most routes have a definitive crux and are generaly shorter but there a few multipitch routes as well.
This area can be climbed year round with the best seasons being spring, summer and fall. In the winter climbing can get very cold in the shade but in the sun climbing can easily be enjoyed in a t-shirt and shorts.

Getting There
If you are comming from the city of Cordoba you will have to take the highway Ruta 20 towards Villa Carlos Paz. You will pass through Carlos Paz, in the middle of the town the street divides in three. To continue Ruta 20 you need to take the left most road. This will take you out of Carlos Paz and through a few other small towns towards Mina Clavero. La Ola is about one hour outside of Carlos Paz. There are a few divisions along the way just make sure to take the signs that say Mina Clavero. You will know your at the parking when you see a huge rock face that looks like giant wave (thus giving the name to the area). This is the first climbing area and also serves as one of the parkings.
