Description

A dark black cliff band of Andesite, with aesthetic kelly green lichen splotches and stripes. Quality 20-30m sport and trad routes exist along the entire band.

This area faces SW and is generally very sunny/hot in the summer between 11am-6pm.

This cliff band is on the NE side of the canyon of Fiddlers Hell, shown on this Forest Service topo: http://data.fs.usda.gov/geodata/rastergateway/data/45118/fstopo/452211800_Summerville_FSTopo.pdf

Getting There

From La Grande:
> North on Fox Hill Road
> At fork in road, turn right (NE) on Crampton Road
> Left (N-NW)after 4.3 miles
> Park in small pullout after 1.2 miles
> Trail on SW side of road, take downhill to crag
> At ATV trail, walk 10-15 feet left to regain trail downhill to crag, which will begin to switchback down to crag

At the crag, you will encounter the sub-areas in the following order (also left-to-right):

And another locals only crag gets exposed to the world... It is about time. The routes here are absolutely incredible and deserve much more attention. My only concern is that no one make the trail up by the road any more obvious than it already is. It would be best to keep the keystone light spray paint crowd at bay for as long as possible.
