Description
This area is truly barren and desolate, but even with all the ruggedness, the area is stunning.
535m at its summit, the Main Topsail is one of four peaks in the Gaff Topsails area. Its east face has roughly 200m to 250m of climbable rockface.
The area has a large granite face one its east side, surround by massive boulders. Its a real playground for any real climbing enthusiast.

Getting There
Driving on the Buchans Highway, drive until you get to the dirt road which will take you to Millertown Junction. From there, drive west on the old railway bed. Any old truck or jeep will have no problem, a car you will have to take your time or you will bottom out.
When you reach the approach jump point (The pond just north of the mizzen topsails, the shores actually come to the railway bed.) You then hike north northeast 4.5km to the Main Topsail.
This hike should only be taken with an experienced guide, as the terrain can be very treacherous, and if not experienced, you can loose your way pretty quick. You will also need to be well supplied with gear, food and water.
