Boyden/ Windy Cliff Area

California > Sequoia & Kings… > Kings Canyon
Warning Access Issue: Always check SEKI road conditions and peregrine closures DetailsDrop down

Description

All of the routes in this area are on the marble walls surrounding Boyden Cavern. The windy cliffs themselves are an 8 mile intrusion of marble that hosts large walls with no route scaling most of them. The routes in the area are typically one pitch and bolted, (gear doesn't hold too well in marble) that being said not all the bolts are up to par and could use a little love and attention(the parking lot routes both have replaced bolts). The area is all within the Sequoia National Forest.

Getting There

Driving East on highway 180 will take you right the the parking lot of Boyden Cavern from there, the approach ranges from 10 seconds to a minute or so. The cave parking lot is just as the road comes along the river.
